Jessica Vliet grew up in New Jersey, moved to New York City to attend the School of Visual Arts, then moved to Los Angeles in 2004. By day Jessica is a 3D animator working in the media of Maya and Photoshop and by night working in pen, ink, and paper. Jessica’s main subject matter is her alter-ego Sticknica, a stylized female stick figure and her travails in the city of Angels. This is Sticknica’s fine art debut. Until now she has only appeared in the digital web comic Die L.A DIE.
Jessica’s art is graphic novel style, with flat black and red cut-out characters and surreal landscapes. She hopes to someday turn it all into an animated movie.
